Recognise Me



In October 2018, VICE partnered with leading LGBT charity Stonewall to launch a vast editorial campaign titled - Recognise Me - to come out for trans rights and call on the British government to improve outdated equality legislation on the issue. As part of this, it encouraged people to respond to a public consultation on the Gender Recognition Act (GRA), an archaic piece of legislation that requires trans people to undergo psychiatric interviews and medical assessments to change their gender.
